Jordan began CrossFit in 2013 in New York as a way to get into shape to be able to trek into remote villages of Nepal, India, China, Morocco, and beyond. He says, “I was supposed to lead teams of about 10 different people on hikes that were up to 12 miles a day through the mountains. I knew that I had to be in excellent shape to be able to do that.” The first workout he ever did was “Randy”, which is 75 power snatches for time. Jordan says, “It felt like it lasted forever. It was probably more like 10 minutes in reality. I kind of figured that anything that hurt that bad in that amount of time had to be good for me on some level. I’ve been hooked ever since.”
After training consistently for a few months he decided he wanted to begin training others. He has always had a passion for helping people, and being able to coach seemed like a great way to do that. “I love the competitiveness that it brings out in athletes of all levels. It makes them realize very quickly that they can do way more than they ever thought was possible. I’ve actually been able to get almost my whole family involved in CrossFit too. They all love it. It’s really cool to see them all fall in love with it,” says Jordan.
